Hey all.
I have to get some work done this summer on my house/yard.

I need to put a large sliding (double) gate in the back yard.
I need to change the roof and extend the eves over my kitchen.

Unfortunately, there's only one of me...and much of the work will require at LEAST two people, and could be much easier with more.

I figured why not advertise for "free" labour?

So...if you're interested in coming out and doing some REAL work for a day or two. Maybe learning some construction techniques, or just have nothing better to do...let me know.

On days I'm doing construction, I always make sure I have a cooler full of drinks (pop, beer, etc.) which are available to anyone working. And I usually have a BBQ of some kind at the end of the day to eat and celebrate a job well done.

If you're interested...send me a private message, and I'll let you know more info as my dates get closer.

Good thinking ages. There's lots of kids graduating this year that will be looking for a little experience to land some construction jobs for the summer!

Well...if they want to WORK for a living...I can connect them to do labour jobs for money at our company.

Working on my house won't make anyone any extra money Wink.

I've invited a whole bunch of people to be my friends. How come they have not accepted? Sad

I think its because there is no notification that someone invited you to be a friend and you must go to a certain page yourself to see the invites.

Friends?
I don't need to tag my friends and count them in some database Wink.

Actually, I have a couple of friends I can call to help too...but figured I'd give this a shot...maybe make some new friends.

Remember, I've only been here for a few years. It's not like I grew up here with life-long friends.

And...to be honest...the three guys I'd call "best" friends, would be lucky if they could "supervise" (as suggested earlier)...let alone do any work. Very Happy

heh I would volunteer but I think my wife might kill me if I go help other people before finishing all the work at my house first.

Yeah...I know THAT feeling.

I'd be happy to swap work...ie. you help me build my gate and roof, and I'll come supervise whatever you're doing at your place Smile

haha , my girlfriend is the same way. She gets pissy when I have half built computers laying around and a buddy calls up and his is fixed in an hour or all the car audio equipment sitting, waiting to be installed and some one stops by and theirs is done in a few hours. lol!

hehe, I will admit that some time I do it to bug her... hehe

I only need to install a new garage door, tear down a deck, build a new one ( including stairs) . tear down a fence, build a new one, paint the outside of the house, put in some sort of non loose stone driveway, tear up the front yard and put in a new type of garden border, new sod and replace 4 windows in the house.
ooo and clean the garage so that once I fix the door I can actually park in there....

But that is what men do. We help when friends ask. That also builds up points for the future when we need help.

If I help you move I know I can rely on you to help me move...

For the record: I DON'T move. Anyone. Ever.

I have to replace my garage door to0, springs keep breaking cuz its solid 1200lbs sarcasm door! But it is really heavy and keeps breaking springs. So I am gonna get a new one. I have to do our back yard, pervious owner put down gravel and the lady wants grass and build a fence. But I wanna hire a pro to that so it will actually resemble a fence! hehe Oh and tie wrap the satillite cable to the house as I just threw it over the side of the house and now all the slack is sitting all over the ground in a pile.
