Evil Doer proposes law to put off debt payments

The Manitoba government introduced a proposed law Thursday that would excuse it from making any payments on its debt until 2012.

The province's debt is projected to rise by $700 million this year to $11.8 billion, or $9,717 per Manitoban.

Existing legislation requires the government to pay a little more than $110 million per year towards that debt. However, when the government introduced its 2009-10 budget a few weeks ago, it included only a $20 million debt payment and the promise that the government would amend its own law so that it could make lower payments.

The government introduced those proposed changes Thursday, and much to the dismay of the opposition Tories, the changes allow the government to make no debt payments at all for the next three years.

Read story here.

This is the NDP taking full advantage of the recession to revert to old practises. Note the time frame. Hmmm. When is the next election?

Yes but the people are to blame they keep putting this jerk in power and hopefully we toss Bill out when he tries to take over.

This was to be unexpected, what with the NDP's love of unnecessary spending.

Can you say Rights Museum?

Its not like any government can do anything to stop it.

Say JTF was leader of a strong Manitoba party and the Manitoba Party introduces legislation that
a) Legislates that the amount of people working for the government can not grow by a greater percentage then the population growth.
b) 3% more then minimum payment must be paid on the debt ever year.

Its great for his 16 years in power but then a group of communist bastards gets in and simply changes the law. So it matters very little at all about the law that JTF made.

Very frustrating.

If you substitute Filmon and Doer in the above scenario, it is as is happening.
