So I am reading this article. Interesting I guess. But who the hell pays for something like this? Was there really this clock stopping madness out there that we had to identify copernicus' body? I really dont understand why ANYONE would go to such lengths does anybody on here have a clue why this needed to be done or even a halfbaked theory of why this had to be done?

This was done because an academic at an archeology school does this sort of thing...it's their whole reason for living.

Actually, it is how we learn of our history. While spending copious amounts of coin on such things strikes me as wasteful, our history is important...
