or have dealt with them?
First I have heard of these guys and was wondering what people think.

http://canadians.org/about/index.html

They have invited me (and presumably a ton of people) to this

"The Veolia waste water treatment contract has been one of the most controversial issues of this election. To address citizen concerns and give us all a better understanding of our future, the Council of Canadians - Winnipeg Chapter and the Winnipeg Citizens Coalition are hosting a forum with researcher Kerwin Olsen of Indianapolis. Olsen will speak to Winnipeggers about his city's twenty year contract with the multinational water giant, describing in detail their journey through repeated safety violations, labour disputes and lawsuits.

The forum will take place on Wednesday, Oct 20, 7:00pm in the Carol Shields Auditorium of the Millennium Public Library. You are cordially invited to attend.
"

I've never heard of them. Judging by that one paragraph you posted Deank it sounds like they have an agenda regarding the Veolia contract.

Planning on attending Deank? I suspect a perspective of sober second thought will be required.

Unfortunately I have prior commitments that would have a significant impact on my family if I canceled those commitments

Ever hear of Maude Barlow?

She started this group to oppose the Free Trade Agreement.

I haven't heard of them either, but I have pinko blinders on most of the time.

Wow. Barlow has been around for over 25 years, sucking at the public teat....

and few, it appears, have even heard of her 'work'. What does that say?

imo, this should be on the list of wasteful spending.
