I still fail to see how I can cover 40-50km in Twin Cities rush hour in the time it takes to do 15km here.

When you're here...drive faster. Smile

Also, the gas is cheaper in Minnesota.

What's Minniapolis's roadway budget? I'm sure its a heck of a lot higher than Winnipeg's. The best way to upgrade this city's traffic planning is to reduce and remove intersections. There is no need for cross traffic access to every Tim Hortons, Sobey's, or Esso. There is no need for access to every single side street off of Portage or Kenaston. The city needs to prioritize it's thoroughfares. The idea of light synchronizing was a good start, but it wasn't the right solution.

There is a 1KM stretch of McGilvery Bvld with 2 lights and a railway crossing. The first set allows people to access/exit a Sobey's and movie theater. The Second allows access to a Costco. There is also alternate access to and from Kenaston Bvld in 2 separate places (including a large intersection). Why the hell did they do this? They could have easily made a service road to accommodate that pitiful traffic. I wonder how much it costs to install and service a lighted intersection. Winnipeg must get a hell of a deal from the company that makes these lights.

Minneapolis/Minnesota is facing a MASSIVE... UBER MASSIVE deficit in funding to their infrastructure. For too long all of the USA has been using BORROWED funds to fund road building and such. With a 13 Trillion dollar debt and an almost 2 trillion dollar deficit at the federal level..never mind the problems at the state level you wont be praising the American road systems for much longer

Yeah, but if they need money, they just go and print as much as they want...
/end sarcasm...
They don't care about their foreign debt, and they have a massive debt with the U.N. while they've been using their soldiers in wargames in the Middle East and S. Korea, using that as an excuse for not paying up.
Me thinks we've gone a bit off topic with the last few posts...
