I am curious. I was 21 turning 22 when I moved out and I never looked back!

18. Kicked out actually. Can't imagine why. Maybe I was "banned" from home...

They probably did you a favor. I know of someone who is 44 years old, doesn't work and still lives at home. He lives off his father's pension. It sickens me that an adult would take advantage of an elderly parent.

Sister was 25 or 26 I think.

18! Left Dauphin for University.
I went back for 2 of 5 summers while getting my degree, but wouldn't call it 'moving back home'. Stuff never came out of boxes.
Moving out young was the best thing that happened to me. If my daughter can stay at home until she gets an education, whether it's a doctor or a hairdresser. After that, out you go!

My kids can stay at home until they are finished college or university. If they decide to work FT instead then they will be paying rent and can stay here while working FT till the age of 24. I feel that is fair.

I'd have to clarify your question...as to "which time"?
Initially...18 (joined the Army)
Moved back
19...moved out
20...moved back
22...moved out
23...moved back
23...moved out
27...moved back
29...moved out
31...moved back
32...moved out
haven't moved back again...yet

I was 20 when I moved out. Already had my first child and on the verge of getting married. Moved in with my soon to be hubby. For a very short time we lived with my grandmother and mom while the apartment we were renting was under construction so I don't really call that moving back home. My kids however are all adults and I still have 2 at home, my 26 year old son and 22 year old daughter. He works full time and pays rent to us and my daughter just finished college so once she gets a full time job, she too will pay rent. Right now I don't have a problem with either of them being at home but I am sure there will come a time when they will want to leave. I understand why my son doesn't want to leave and we are both ok with him being there.

It was after finishing grade 12, then turned 18 a new months later. Lots of people finish grade 12 and are still 17.

Had I stayed any longer, I would have had WWIII with my parents. Needless to say, we became much closer as I entered my 20s.

Ditto. Barely spoke to family members I lived with until a month after I left. Had my first actual conversation with my sister only after I moved out. Now we all get along great.

17 when I left for the first time. I keep telling that story to my kids, but they still haven't taken the hint. I've even resorted to quit buying cheese, but thats not working either.
