I had them give an estimate once. Didn`t use them, their price was far higher, the hand written estimate wasn`t legible, I had questions on the quote, took for ever to get a call back, at that point we went with the middle quote for the work we wanted

I have used them. In all cases it worked out. Mostly minor repair kinda things...

I've heard that it's difficult to get them to come out for an estimate...hard to have them return a call for that matter.

Sounds like they are very busy! There is ashortage of capable men to do small jobs in the city.
I had someone out, not handyman, sent to figure out the installation costs for our new fireplace.
He came and 4 weeks later hadn't figured out the cost because he couldn't look after his own customers. He was sent in by the fireplace company Embers, and the end result we arent going to have a fireplace to burn all the dry birch frame stock cut-offs that we produce.
