Not sure how many at 10 AM, as she was shoveling mulch fromour pile of wood chips. I was dozing, wife runs into the house and into the shower trying to get the wasps off her. Lots of noise before I ask her are you ok? She says no, so I go back to sleep. lol

I killed about 7 wasps that came into the house, googled what to do after a 911 call that said if she stops breathing call us back! lol

Put some concoction made of baking soda to ease the itch. Nap time, and then out shopping so she has to be OK!

Just bought some antihistamine as she is quite miserable, with pain and itching all over her body. She is resting in bed, as I have to try and sneak out for a cheeseburger and fries.

Thanks DeanK who said he would bring a couple of his boys over to try and dig up the nest! lol

Scary stuff! Old age creeping in.

Still a pretty good football game on TV!

GOM- I missed 8AM because my very GOOD WIFE, hadn't slept all night, was in extreme pain and itching. Her face and arms were all puffy, so I had to drive her to a walk-in clinic! I really wanted to meet you this morning and console you with a Sals breakfast!

Just remember it's the thought that counts! lol That is what my Mom taught me!

She is 100 years this December 5th!

Over 40 bites, 3 prescriptions, 2 for cream to help the itching and 1 for pain pills. Sunday to Wednesday taking the pills, and now just a little itching.

Scary stuff!

JTF- What makes you think that she puts up with me? You have no proof of that, do you? We should go out for a lunch or supper together , with our wives, and you will change your slanted, incorrect, anti-semitic (my wife included) view!! lol Thanks, she is afraid to go outside, and now I am inside my garage, typing away, while she hogs the 20'x36' house we share!

Wasps are everywhere. Now that the mosquitoes and rain have finally died down in Edmonton, the wasps are coming out. Last night I bbq, and a few somehow found their way into my bbq and got cooked.

Out in the Okanagan, you couldn't get too far without at leat four of them hovering around you. I discovered a few wasp traps that seemed to work out there so I'm gonna try and get some for my back yard. And if we have a late summer and fall, then these things will be around for awhile yet. Awesome.

Poor Mrs. Rosie. I was attacked the other day while standing around yapping with neighbours, and it hurt like a sonofabitch. One of those buggers alone made my arm swell up like a sausage, and it took about 4 days for it to stop itching, burning and for the redness to subside.

40? FML. That's ungodly pain.

The farking wasps are everywhere. We thought we had outsmarted them when we caulked in the crevices of our garage this spring to keep them from moving back in (and to keep the ding bat squirrels out too) and they have subsequently relocated to the gutters and eavestrough in front of the house. Which is infinitely worse.

Score this summer:

Sourpuss 0: Wasps 1
Mr. Sourpuss 0: Wasps 4
Big Kid 0: Wasps 2
Little Kid 0: Wasps 2
Dog 8+: Wasps 0

My wife got stung about 5 days ago on the finger. Her finger and hand swelled up to a massive size for a few days. Her hand looked like someone took a hammer to it or something. She also said it hurt like hell.

She did nothing to provoke it either. It seems like the wasps are angry this year.

My wife was shoveling wood chips from a pile in our front yard, where these wasps apparently had built a nest. Over 40 bites and she is OK now, but still itchy after 12 days .

No mosquitoes but wasp bites are 30 times worse, in my opinion.

So did she try going all phantom hand?

What a way to go, eh?

Get some Apple Cidar Vinegar (aka ACV) and dab a cotton ball with it and then apply it to the spot...

http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/blog/home-remedy-for-wasp-sting.html

Vinegar is a well-known remedy for treating wasp stings
due to its acidic nature. Pressing a cotton swab soaked in apple cider
vinegar against the area injured by the sting until the pain disappears
is an effective home remedy as it counteracts the venom. A few drops of
vinegar or lemon juice sprinkled on the wound will also neutralize the
effect of the venom left behind by the sting. A paste of vinegar and
baking soda, applied on the affected area is known to reduce the
discomfort caused by wasp stings. Besides vinegar, there are a number of
other natural remedies for wasp sting treatment.
Rubbing olive oil on the area affected by the sting reduces the pain and
quickens the healing process of the wound. Aloe vera gel applied
liberally to the wound also assists the healing process. Applying
crushed garlic or onion juice to the affected area gently helps to draw
out the pain. A cucumber slice placed on the wound is also known to
reduce the pain caused by a sting.
