Does this mean that if Hughie wins then the tax payers will have pay for new outfits to keep the leader fashionable?

If one has a profound fundamental difference with their policy what choice does one have? You don't vote for people or parties you don't believe in.

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Naw. Hughie would pay for his own clothes I'm sure.

Nobody's really distinguished themselves at ALL in this election.

Sure the NDP have been in for 12 years and haven't fixed all they said they would, etc.... but they haven't done anything so bad to stir the hornet's nest of anger that would motivate voters. The PC's haven't stood out much either, not wanting to take chances I guess. I won't be surprised if the NDP actually do win another term.

I wonder if it says a lot about how poorly the Filmon government was viewed by the end that the NDP is still able to raise that spectre and win on it...

I won't be surprised if voter turnout is exceptionally low also.

25% of the voters weren't even on the voters list the last time they had a chance to vote for Filmon

Based on how few lawn signs that I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised with a low turnout. It's been a super-boring campaign so far.

But aren't those the voters who are least likely to turn up and cast a ballot?

Look for a front page Sun piece in tomorow's Sun on the photo enforcement program. Selinger conceded that he doesn't support the program and the Sun will now fry him over past contrary decisions/inactions etc. By tomorrow night the PC''s will have to offer a policy position - which will be anti but cautiously weak - despite the fact the PC's need to win Wpg and that Sun and Freep on-line polls reflected 91% and 81% of public in favour of ending the abusive fundraising program. I hope they decide to come out with strong and clear language because this issue could be the swing-factor in all-important Winnipeg ridings.

Great column. selinger's campaign should embarrass nippers. Lies, untruths, hyperbole on top of twelve years of simply not doing the job. What are Manitoban's judging the ndp on that even gives the ndp a sniff at winning this election?

Blind unionists and other socialists just don't care I guess, provided government largess keeps their gravy train rolling.

Shame.

Blind unionists and socialists are in the minority in this province. It's the other folks who voted NDP in the past, who need to vote for something else.

Will these folks, in the majority, pay close enough attention to make a smart choice? It's been a dull campaign so far...

Sellinger will obviously say anything to win and its not the people who dont trust him or the people that outright hate him that he is targeting statements like the above at....he is targeting those statements at the NDP "faithful" that were either staying home, or voting against the NDP. Why? Because that is all he needs to do and the people he is targeting at are eating it up.

According to MGEU website McFadyen sucks up most to the unions and is their new darling. Unions hate Selinger because they got ripped off in their last agreements, and Selinger now uses those union sacrifices to reduce the deficit and make it appear as if governemnt was doing well with budgeting.
