Apart from knowing who he or she is, have you met your MLA and do you have a sense of how good a job they have done representing your riding?

Hugh's my MLA. I've never met him. I did contact him once, in writing, but he never got back to me, although his staff said that he would.

How well has he represented my riding? Honestly, I can't say. What I can tell you is that he seems to be invisible. I haven't seen him out in the community, making an effort to get to know his constituents. Maybe he has, but I haven't noticed.

He should have called an open-house at one of the schools to allow folks to ask questions and meet him. Not even debate other candidates. That would be pointless because he's in a riding that only elects Tories.

I know my last MLA very well. He gave 100% to his role as MLA.

Hugh has been invisible for the last 4 years. The folks running the PC campaign have failed miserably.

I just moved to a new area. I have never met any of the candidates here...

I don't know what happened to the campaign managers that Filmon had but I get the feeling Who McFadyen has a totally different crew.

It sure does. What it means is the folks running the PCs have allowed them to be invisible for more than four years. The ndp were ripe for plucking this year and it appears as though the PCs don't want to govern.

Shame.

I suspect that most people don't ever see, or meet, their MLA.

Mine is Jennifer Howard. All I get from her are a couple of mailings a year.

I suspect, though, that we don't hang out with the same crowds, so we never run into each other.

As an MLA, she hasn't done a single thing for our community. If she had, she would have told us eh. Smile

Why shouldn't Hydro be privaticed so Shindlemann's can look after our needs? We wouldn't be wasting $750,000 running it down the wrong side!

Put on Shaw Cable to listen to many of the people running for MLA!

Last evening I found a flyer of the incumbent NDP candidate under my door, so supposedly my MLA. This was the very first time I heard of the name! The flyer was generic and all about the party. There was NOTHING about the candidate, no professional or personal background, or any accomplishments in the community or in politics. How can they reasonably expect anyone to vote for a non-person!

Every NDP flyer is like that.
