If the Freep poll can be believed ( and we know online polls are not reliable)

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/polls/Do-you-plan-to-vote-on-Tuesday-130943378.html?c=y&pollSubmitted=y&viewResults=y&mr=1&oid=1&pid=130943378&cid=8500584

we are headed for 85%+ territory when people who have already voted and people who intend to vote are counted.

On the way into work today the NDP and PCs ads were rotating back to back to back to back on the radio. BUT, the press coverage in general has again been pretty abysmal, (compared with 12 years ago) so I really dont know. I know at the door I get tons of people who identify with the NDP who say, they dont know if they are going to vote, because they dont like their candidate, lots of other people who dont see any difference in the parties do they dont care....I hope I have convinced them to send votes my way, if they vote or not.. I have no idea.

Its hard to judge but I would go with...61% turn out province wide

I think that reflects the mood. 60% is very optimistic, I would not be surprised to see it drop to 45%, though I know quite a few people who went to the advance polls already because they are so convenient. Not sure how many more will make an extra effort tomorrow.

Without picking a number, I think turn out will be very low. This has to have been the worst campaign I have every seen. The PC's had the right idea with vision, change, progress, but all they seem to have done is make similar promises to the NDP. Thats not a platform, thats pandering.

The NDP have done what the NDP do best, promise to spend more money, that we don't have but they will soon take away from us in the form of increased income tax, another point on the PST and some business killing tax or fee. Their ads have been downright stupid. (McFayden is a privatizer...what the frick is a privatizer?) They have made no effort to defend their record of overpsending and mismanagement and the PC haven't called them to account for it.

What a waste of time.

My feeling is that most of the people that were going to vote, voted in the advance polls.

But really....it's a coin toss as to turn-out.

dear lord that would mean the lowest voter turn out in history then...

Can the Lt Governor vacate the election if it gets that bad?

There's an election? /Sarcasm

Seriously... At this point I don't care. Though to be honest, with the NDP being turfed in the Federal Election, it could happen at the provincial level as well. One could only hope.

My guess is that voter turnout will be in the 45-48% range.

Most? I'm guessing it will be close to 60%. Some people vote regardless of how the campaigns have been perceived. And some traditionally don't bother.

Maybe you didn't?

CJOB reported, "About 54 per cent of eligible Manitobans turned out Tuesday comparable to the 2004 vote.."

Better tallies this morning put the number at 57.47 per cent, slightly better than in 2007 when 56.75 per cent of Manitobans cast a ballot. That could be thanks to a significant number of voters who hit advance polls and tight races in several ridings that made voters feel their choice really mattered. -- Freep.
