I'm doing a small poll. Please let me know in one paragraph why the PC's lost this election.

Part Two. And then what to do about it. Such as - revamping the brand or stepping right over what's left of it with a new bold party on the right that doesn't pander to the centre - or some other form of action in between these two alternatives. Greatly appreciated.

They ran a weak, poorly thought-out and non-focused campaign imo. They missed an opportunity from the getgo whereas the Commie Bastards set the agenda from said getgo. The PCs thereafter did nothing but react and threw out all those money promises to regain some momentum....which they never did. In the meantime, they pissed off a lot of conservative, anti-Commie support.

However, the major problem they had was organizational.

They did not get their vote out where it counted....remember, there was only a 7K vote difference between the two major parties.

My gut tells me there was some backroom animosity that came into play.

Oh...the last part.

The PCs just have to get a new leader with some balls and some personality... a Ralph Klein or Danny Williams type.

The PCs have been all but invisible for two elections now. The latest election looked like a me too campaign and merely positioned the PC just to the right of the almost completely centrist ndp. They did not show Manitoban's that they were a real and viable option to the existing socialists.

They need to become more active and engaged in real politics. Put the ndp's feet to the fire. Stand up and be noticed for Gad's sake. Replace McFadyen and the current PC executive.

What the PCs need is to stop thinking like politicians.

That may sound silly...but if they want to get in the public's head, they need to prove to the public they are the BETTER choice...not the "alternative" one.

The only ads I remember hearing from the PCs...are about all the things that the NDP promised but never fulfilled. That tells me nothing about what the PCs are going to do...FOR ME!!!

And the NDP ads were 90% about what the PCs were going to do TO ME, if I voted PC...which would be enough for many people to think twice about voting PC...if there is no clear choice to vote for.

PCs would need a charismatic, likeable candidate who is well versed on the issues...has clear ideas on how to address those issues, yet is willing to compromise some details in order to achieve the final goal.

Refuse to renew your membership or make any donations until the Executive explain what happened and take responsibility.

At the door, on the bus time in and time out, NDP, PC, Lib supporters they all said the same thing. I am sick of the parties only telling me about the other guy. Tell me what you are going to do! And yet... people still voted the way they did.

New party, please.

They've had two elections to knock off the NDP, with plenty of ammunition.

This time around, all they had to do was knock off a rookie premier...someone who lacks charisma and appears to be an angry old man on tv.

I'll never vote Tory again. I'll donate money to help start a new party. If there isn't one next time, I'll vote Green.

I think Manitoba got the government that they deserve! That was what the Free Press printed!

Let us see what has been going on in Wpg!

New Bomber Stadium

New MTS Center

The JETS are back

A New Airport

A new Manitoba Hydro Building

A Human Rights Monster Building (our 1st world class building)

6 roads repaired in Winnipeg

A Zoo that is being brought up to 2nd class standards from 4th class

IKEA is on the way

There is so much going on in the last few years, and

THE JETS ARE BACK, and Wpg is back on the map!!!

All this DESPITE the NDP! Imagine if we had a competent and responsibly spending government without chronic nepotism .... of course PC would never be able to accomplish that anyway.
