Reg had a serious weight problem.

Last time we met (yes I do know Liberals) I had a coffee and he had muffins, cake, turn-overs, etc.

Only 63.

Damn.

If you read the article it says he recently dropped a lot of weight. Someone who saw him recently said he was looking good.

Actually he was near 6'8" (not 6'). I saw him last year and he had to be close to 400lbs. Recently I saw him on TV and he had lost about 80lbs I quessed. He was a big guy but 300lbs + was still too heavy for him. It's always seemed to me that people north of 6'4" lived a shorter life span. You just don't see 85yr olds at 6'8".

Why would the media report him at 6'? I don't believe he was 6'8".

I was supposed to be 7' 2"! That is why I am 340 pounds. Just waiting to finish growing taller!

I assure you he was a giant. I stood beside him at Canadian Tire checkout and he was, by my estimation - 6'8". I have two relatives that are 6'7" and 6'6" - and he was taller.

When he grew his beard he was often mistaken for Bill Blakie, says Bill Blakie.
